Hello, I'm Lauren McGauley, MS LCPC NCC

I am a woman who believes in creating a voice for those who haven't found theirs yet. Growing up, even from as early as the playground days, I was the one others came to to resolve conflicts, and help them stand up to others. Being a midwest native, while traveling the US has taught me to never forget my roots, while also embracing how different we all are. My journey has always seemed to be about helping others, and being passionate about people. I always catch myself being curious about others, and utilize that curiosity in my work as a psychotherapist and coach. We are all survivors of our circumstances, no matter where we come from. I believe that my openness, assertiveness, and compassion helps others to find their highest potential of being.

I have been involved with sports since I was 5 years old, and specialize in coaching athletes. Sports psychology deals with many aspects of an athlete’s life, but the essence of the subject is how do athletes and coaches deal with the “moments”. By combining proven psychological tools, I have had great success helping sportsmen and women overcome obstacles, break down barriers, and go on to perform at their absolute peak.

I received my BS in Psychology and my MS in Mental Health from Missouri State University. Upon graduation I found myself in Las Vegas. I wanted to challenge myself, and learn more about myself, so I up and moved to Las Vegas with my dog. When I am not working, I am spending my time walking my dog, spending time in nature, practicing yoga, working on art, reading, or diligently bingeing Netflix or ESPN. I crave learning, and will never stop learning from others including my clients, peers, family, friends, and mentors.

Choosing a coach or therapist is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. I believe embarking on this journey is allowing yourself to trust yourself with another being, and knowing that I will meet you where you are, and join you in beginning this process. If you do not find a connection with me, I will do my best to refer you to someone that I believe can help you reach your goals. One of my biggest goals is breaking the stigma attached to seeking treatment, as I firmly believe we are not broken and need fixing, but we are hurt and need healing. We see a dentist to clean our teeth, we take our car to the mechanic when it needs it, and we go to the doctor when we are sick. Seeking therapy or coaching is a service for the mind, soul, and tune-up of life.
